The Super Radio Reporters

We have just installed our very own FM Radio Station at Broadlands School.

Today, the FM Radio Managment Team did their first real live broadcast on the Broadlands 107.0 FM for one hour. Brendon Weatherley, from Classic Hits, came to listen and give some great advice! They had lots of sports events and music on there. It was great! We hope to hear them again soon.

The FM Radio Managment Team is Abby, Emily, Sophie, John, Ben, Reihana, David and Cody.

  1. What a fun thing to have in your school. What plans does your school have for using it?

  2. It is great fun! Our plan is to run it in our enrichment program as the team are still learning at this stage. We have two crews of 4 students, each have specific jobs. Each crew have to plan a week long program. As I say it is new to us, so ask again in a month. We have a local DJ supporting us which is amazing.

  3. I am definitely jealous! I think it would be a lot of fun (and a lot of learning) to run a radio station. Make sure you post your programming. I am really interested to see what programs you create. Could the station could be put on an online radio so that we could listen in the United States?

  4. Thanks for your feedback! We will keep you in touch with how our team progress. I am not sure how we could run an online radio for you to listen to. The students are very excited that you would want to listen so I will investigate options. Do you have any ideas?

  5. I know of a site http://www.live365.com/index.live that is an online radio streaming site. I think you can create your own channel, but I am not sure.
